Sverige i fokus: The Official Citizenship Test Study Material

Sverige i fokus is the official study material produced by UHR (the Swedish Council for Higher Education) together with Skolverket, on assignment from the government. It is the foundational text on which the Swedish knowledge test for citizenship (medborgarskapsprov) is based — if a topic isn't covered in this book, it won't appear on the test.

The material spans an introduction plus 13 chapters covering Sweden's geography and nature, the democratic system, how the country is governed, its history, laws and human rights, and the labor market and welfare system. It's available as a single downloadable PDF and as 14 separate MP3 audio files (one per chapter/introduction), so it can be studied by reading, by listening (e.g., during a commute), or both in combination for better retention. UHR explicitly warns that unofficial practice-test websites circulating online are not affiliated with or verified by the agency, so this PDF remains the only authoritative source to study from.
