In an election interview with The Local, Sweden Democrats (SD) migration spokesperson Ludvig Aspling outlined the party's plan to establish so-called "return hubs" — reception centers located outside the EU — as one of its top migration policy priorities for the next mandate period.
How it would work: People whose residence permit applications have been rejected, but who cannot be forcibly deported because their home country refuses to cooperate on returns, would instead be transferred to stay at these centers in a third country.
The goal: To create pressure on the person to accept a voluntary return to their home country, with Sweden covering the cost of the flight ticket.
