Part 2 — Om Sverige: The National Civic Orientation Book

Om Sverige ("About Sweden") is published by Informationsverige.se, the official integration portal run in partnership with Sweden's county administrative boards (Länsstyrelserna). It is the most widely used text in samhällsorientering — the free, mandatory civic-orientation course offered to newly arrived residents with a residence permit.

Spanning roughly eight chapters (arriving in Sweden, housing, work, taxes, democracy, human rights, family life, healthcare), it gives a comprehensive practical introduction to daily life and civic structures. The book can be read directly on the website, downloaded as a full PDF or chapter-by-chapter, in ten languages, and a printed Swedish edition can be ordered at cost price.
